The students performing for you at this concert will be the winners of the Peninsula Music Society’s 2017 Bursary Awards. All entrants will have been auditioned and interviewed by a panel of adjudicators who decide the winners. Members of the panel are all professional musicians and independent of PMS.
The Bursary Awards provide an annual opportunity exclusive to our local music students. In recent years, PMS has presented bursaries with an annual total value of around $20,000 to these talented students.
Further information regarding the 2017 Bursary Awards, including entry forms, will be posted on the PMS website www.pmsmusic.asn.au. Applications close 13 June 2017 and auditions will be held in July.
Other student activities during the year include workshops and masterclasses presented in association with the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria and the facilitation of performance opportunities as they arise. See the website for details or contact David Fickling on 0419 985 550.
PMS student activities are funded through the support of the Tallis Foundation, Mornington Peninsula Shire and private donors. All donations to PMS over $2 are tax-deductible
