Student Bursaries

Since 1998, the Peninsula Music Society has awarded bursaries to assist young musicians of the Mornington Peninsula to further their music studies. There are separate primary/secondary and tertiary divisions and entrants are auditioned and interviewed by a panel of leading musicians, independent of PMS, who decide the winners.

The Bursary Awards provide an annual opportunity exclusive to our local music students. In recent years, PMS has presented bursaries with an annual total value of around $20,000 to these talented students.

Applications have closed for 2017 Bursary Awards

Auditions will be held in late July and applicants will be notified of the date, place and time. Bursary winners are expected to perform at the Bursary Winners’ concert on Saturday 19 August 2017 at 7.30pm at the Peninsula Community Theatre, Wilsons Rd, Mornington.

The Peninsula Music Society Committee was delighted with the standard achieved by the 2016 Bursary winners, who performed at the free Bursary Winners' concert on 20th August 2016. These are musicians whose careers we will watch with great interest in years to come.
