We are proud to host, once again, the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra. Comprising some of the state’s most exciting chamber musicians, it performs music with uncompromising artistic quality, impressive finesse and extraordinary passion. In this concert, Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 (with leading soloist Sophie Rowell) rubs shoulders with two symphonies from the 1770s by Haydn and Mysliveček. Sophie also performs the solo in Sibelius’ delectable suite for violin and strings. Recently appointed Concertmaster with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, violinist Sophie has had an extensive performing career as a soloist, chamber musician and principal orchestral violinist both in Australia and abroad.
