2026 BURSARIES FOR PRIMARY, SECONDARY & TERTIARY MUSIC STUDENTS

APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED FOR 2026.

For over 20 years, Peninsula Music Society has awarded bursaries to assist young musicians  to further their music studies. 

In 2026, these awards will provide an opportunity, exclusive to local primary, secondary & tertiary music students, living in the Mornington Peninsula or Frankston City.

Applicants must be studying: Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Recorder, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone or Tuba with the minimum standard of AMEB Grade 6 or equivalent.

All students must present two contrasting pieces of music, no longer than 10 minutes total, in different styles and provide their own accompanist if required.

For the Tertiary section, we require a minimum of four applicants.

Entry fee of $35 must be paid via the PMS Bank Account

Auditions will be held on 21 June, at Peninsula Grammar School Mt Eliza. Successful applicants will be auditioned and interviewed by a panel of leading musicians, independent of PMS, who decide the winners. 

Bursary winners are expected to perform at the Bursary Winners' concert on Sunday 19 July, 2.30pm.
